Case Features
 | Supreme-quality rotational
molding process. Rotomolded cases are really the
only way to go if you want the best in transport
protection and life expectancy for your
container. And since we make the one-piece
stress-free molded lids and bases in our own
factory, there’s never any question about
quality. |
 | Reinforced corners and edges.
These high-stress areas are 15 to 20% thicker
than the walls, to provide strength where it’s
most needed. |
 | Permanent, uniform colors
throughout walls. The color can’t be peeled off
or scraped away because it is molded throughout.
|
 | Molded-in corrugations. This
design feature provides utmost columnar strength
for stacking and protection during transport.
|
 | Molded-in male/female
stacking ribs. This feature allows you to stack
numerous like-sized Hardigg cases easily and
with confidence. |
 | Positive anti-shear locks.
Our patented locks effectively prevent case lids
from separating from bases on impact – plus they
minimize stress on hardware. |
 | Low-profile wing-turn
catches. These are both lightweight and high
strength. |
 | Molded-in tongue-in-groove
gasketed parting lines. The case seals tight,
because the parting line is molded in. Even
after an impact, the polyethylene shell will
return to its original configuration without
violating the seal. |
 | Recessed latches and hinges.
This feature means your hardware is fully
protected from impact or other damage.
|
 | Molded-in metal inserts for
catch and hinge attachment points. Hardigg’s
patented metal inserts provide strength at the
attachment points for the catches and latches
and spread the load from the hardware to the
container wall. |
 | Comfort Grip Handles.
Patented heavy-duty plastic handles are standard
on most cases. These injection-molded
polyethylene handles are the industry’s easiest
to grasp: they feature a larger and more
comfortable grip and rustproof HDPE, plus
they’re recyclable and weigh 33% less than other
handles. |
 | Foam cushioning systems. For
ultimate protection in equipment transit,
Hardigg cases come in foam-lined, foam-filled,
or customized cushioning models. We use
polyethylene and polyurethane foams, depending
upon your equipment weight/size and sensitivity.

Case Options
Hardigg offers an especially broad range of
standard options.
Airtight case system - This includes a PRV (pressure
relief valve) and gasketing hardware to safely maintain
correct pressure differential.
All-catch - Case hinges are
replaced with wing/turn catch-strike pairs, allowing lid to
be completely removed. No charge for this option. [Note:
some cases available only as all-catch.]
Card holder - Metal holder for
shipping-card riveted to the exterior of case. Two sizes:
2-3/8" x 5-3/8" (60 x 136 mm) and 4" x 6" (102 x 152 mm).
Caster sets – removable or fixed.
Available in sets of four, these are attached with rugged
mounting hardware or with Hardigg’s FastClip™ mounting plate
system.
Edge casters - These rugged
caster assemblies are installed along a bottom edge of a
single lid case to permit wheeled movement of the case in a
cart-like fashion. Each heavy-duty caster wheel is in a
durable cast aluminum housing uniquely designed to resist
impact and rough handling abuse. Not available on all case
sizes.
Foam cushioning - Hardigg
cushioning systems are available in polyethylene (firmer)
and polyurethane (softer) foams. Antistatic versions are
also available. We offer foam-filled (with separate layers
of 1" or 2" foam) and foam-lined (either 1" or 2" depth)
systems. In addition, Hardigg will customize foam cushioning
systems, with multiple cavities, to provide maximum
protection and stability. Hardigg’s state-of-the-art water
jet foam cutting system provides customers with precisely
manufactured and repeatable cushions – plus fast turnaround.
Forklift provisions/Skid-Runners -
The one-piece molded Skid-Runners provide clearance
for forklift tines and pallet jacks.
Handles – Our patented,
heavy-duty Hardigg Comfort Grip Handles are the industry’s
easiest to hold. These polyethylene molded handles are
available in two sizes – the Model 75, which is rated to 75
lbs. per handle, and the Model 150, which is rated to 150
lbs. Model 150 has a 90° stop, while the Model 75 has a
non-integral stop. Extra 90°-stop metal handles are also
available, mounted to your request. These are available in
zinc-plate yellow-chromate or stainless steel.
Humidity indicator - Indicates
20%, 30%, and 40% relative humidity ranges. Three part face
changes color when inside humidity exceeds the indicated
level. As humidity decreases, the indicator resets for
future use. Recommended for airtight cases only.
ID plates - I.A.W. MIL-P-15024,
Type H, Style IV, Size 10.4" x 4" x .020" (102 x 102 x 0.5
mm) thick aluminum, fastener attached to your case. Text
font is News Gothic Bold.
Labels – ATA. Standard ATA
container label set complies with Specification 300 Category
1.
Labels – front. To assure that
lids are replaced in the proper orientation. A set of two
"front" labels are affixed to the case, one on the base and
one on the lid, in the latchwells.
Labels – standard. Each label
set includes: Delicate Unit, Handle with Care, and Up
Arrows.
Lifting/tie-down rings -
These welded rings provide hoisting and tie-down attachment
points with 2" diameter clearance for hooks. They’re
spring-loaded and pivot 180° . Available in plated steel or
stainless steel.
Locking cable/hasp -
Allows the case to be padlocked shut. Cable is
tamper-resistant aircraft steel. [Padlock not included].
Reverse application - The
orientation of the case is reversed: the lid becomes the
base and vice versa. The lid has stacking indents instead of
stacking ribs. No charge for this option.
Stainless hardware -
Recommended for applications where the standard zinc-plate
or zinc alloy finishes are unsuitable, such as excessive
saltwater or chemical environments.
Stencil – epoxy or polyrollmark.
Per MIL-I-43553. Available in black, white, and yellow,
depending on the color of the case itself. One ink color per
case.
Valve – fill - Supplied
with an inner tube valve core, recommended for
pressurization of case. Housing and cap are black anodized
aluminum alloy. Recommended for use with Purge Valve option.
Valve – purge - Manual
Pressure equalization or air relief. Recommended for use
with the Fill Valve option.
